Public service ads have become a gateway to creating meaningful relationships between various groups and communities. These kinds of ads help LGBTs raise issues that should not and cannot be ignored. Below is a collection of ads that refer to LGBT matters as well as other relevant social phenomena.

The stereotype-shattering embrace
The authors of this social experiment asked a number homophobic individuals to hug an LGBT person for the first time in their life. For some, it is an absolutely cathartic sight. We would like to believe that the stereotypes held by the people in the clip have since dissipated.

A fresh commercial promoting acceptance from one of the leading car manufacturers. “We’re the automobile that fits your life—and reminds you how far you’ve come,” says the ad as two macho men in the shot hold hands.
Unable to breath
The video is based on the monologue of a gay man who fled Chechnya. [The monologue was published by the online media Meduza on April 16, 2017]
In early April, the Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta reported on a wave of attacks against gay men including cases of torture and murder spreading across the region of Chechnya. For several months now, the Russian LGBT Network is working on evacuation and support for people from Chechnya, who had faced persecution for being gay. The Russian LGBT Network is doing everything possible to ensure that the federal authorities conduct a transparent and effective investigation into cases of illegal retention, torture and slaughter of people in the Chechen Republic. Since April 1st, more than 130 people applied for help through the email@example.com emergency hotline. Activists evacuated more than 60 people from the region.
